For over 30 years, Guru Prerana Deshpande's Nrityadham has trained students from around the world. Among the hundreds of students that have studied here, many of them are presently teaching and performing actively as well. With a talented mix of MA degree holders, National Scholarship recipients, and Solo performers, Nrityadham's students have gone on to receive accolades and recognition for their form and depth of performance.
Here, all students receive comprehensive training in Kathak, starting from early-stage techniques to gradually progressing to advanced levels. For aspiring professionals, the journey of this art form continues to find new depths.

Exploring The Dance
For young and adult students that harbour a love for dance, Nrityadham is a place of learning, self-discovery, and growth. We teach regular classes as per our curriculum which starts from the basics to advanced stages. This covers all foundational aspects of technique, expression, and presentation.
Lifelong Pursuit
Students who intend to pursue formal educational degrees or wish to pursue a career in Kathak continue their training beyond regular classes. This includes intensive master-classes on various Kathak aesthetics, technique, and self-expression by our Guru Prerana Deshpande.
Training Structures
Regular classes are conducted for beginner and intermediate levels. The curriculum is designed to create a steady learning curve through all foundational levels. Our foundational syllabus is suitable for those wanting to explore the art, covering all aspects from basic to complex and advanced skills. The journey for a life of artistry is encouraged for those wishing to pursue a professional path. ​
All theory is taught in tandem with practice. Online classes are available.
Growth With Examinations
Students appear for an exam on the completion of each foundational level as per their readiness. Examinations are encouraged in a solo format at Nrityadham, inspired by our Guru's belief in the solo tradition of the art form.

Nrityadham's certificate examinations are internally run. Training for BA/MA and other university diplomas is also provided.
Performances
Each year, Nrityadham hosts a concert during the season of Guru Purnima. In this concert, every active student is included in stage performances of each level.

As determined by our Guru, students showing promise at higher levels of learning may be included in other events under Nrityadham, including competitive events, and dance festivals.

At advanced levels, select students are also prepared for full solo recitals as per repertoire, as a testament to their rigorous learning over the years. Past solo performances of Nrityadham's students have received acclaim not only from enthusiastic audiences, but from senior artists in the field of Indian dance and music.
Online & Special Training
Private one-on-one classes may be offered for visiting students from outside Pune or India, or other special circumstances.

Classes may be offered online for international students. As one of the earliest adopters of online and hybrid training models for international students since 2008, Prerana ji has established a strong foundation in live online teaching, maintaining the authenticity of the dance.

Our primary location has classes for all levels, including exclusive personal training by Prerana ji for degree students and professionals. In addition, Prerana ji's senior dancers conduct regular classes in other areas across the city.
Distance & Online

Kathak students outside Pune are offered hybrid and live-online learning models, customised to all levels by Prerana ji and her senior disciples.
